Hola!

Note: We have been working on the video from our trip into the beautiful mountains a couple weekends ago. However, it is being extremely difficult... we will keep working.

It has been a long couple of weeks for the White Lantern at work. As platoon leader he is continually pushed to do more with increased efficiency... And although a great thing, his energy reserve has been stretched to its limit. Along with work, masters classes have been picking up with three papers due this week alone. However, the silver lining is that this training week is a lower in mileage, which should balance out the other areas in his life ramping up.

On top of that Dal's dad, Joe, came to visit this weekend. We had a chance to use our gigantic new dining table and host dinner for Joe, Aunt Charleen and Uncle Doug, as well as their daughter Lauren, and her boyfriend. It was a great night full of ridiculous stories and grown men laughing so hard they cried... Which in turn, made everyone else laugh so hard they cried.

Joe introduced us to a new little restaurant in Gig Harbor named Tides Tavern, with amazing views of the Sound and ridiculous sweet potato fries. Word is you can rent a boat for the day and when you are hungry, dock at the restaurant for food and live music in the summer months. Just another thing that we would use to bribe anyone reading this to come out and visit. ;)

On a more recent note, Brie and I signed up for Spanish Conversation I and II to run consecutively till late June. We are pumped! Annnnnddd a bit scared, as it feels like we haven't been using our brains in quite some time. Its twice a week and later in the day so we can still get all of our workouts and training in.

We are all currently looking forward to our first meet, April 16th, at Mt. Sac. Dallas will be running the 1500m and I'll be lacing up for the 5k. We will post the link to either view it live, or watch the taped version after the race.

Lastly, huge congrats to Edi and Travis on moving into their new house! And to Lacey and Travis... Once he gets done dominating Ranger school, they are moving out to Colorado Springs!

Getaway!

Hey all, hope everyone is doin well.

Quick updates:

Ash and I had a great last weekend. I had a friday off, so after our group workout, we pushed out to the Olympic Mountain range and spent a few days exploring. I was epic and full of amazing scenery, I can't wait to go back. I have put together some footage that we took on the trip that we hope you take a glance at.

Things with work are going well, I am figuring things out more everyday. I love the guys I work with and my boss is giving my more and more leeway.

My MBA class is pretty challenging right now, I am taking a business law class and Asher agrees with me, it is like reading Greek. Things with running are goin great as well. Asher and I are headed down to L.A. in a few weeks for our first race, I think I can put a great early season race together. We have a few big workouts coming up I'll be sure to film them and get them posted. Until then, everyone take care and enjoy some clips my our weekend getaway. I miss you all.

Updating

Hey everybody, hope all is well.

I got off work reasonably early today, so I thought I would throw a quick update out.
Things at work are going strong. I was in charge of running a hand grenade range last week. It went really well. We threw a total of 150 grenades and there were no issues to mention... Which sounds normal and simple but every time I am in charge of a range I get nervous because, as the commanding officer onsite, I am responsible for all activity. Translation, no matter who messes up or why, I am the one who answers to the law for it... that is the 'not so sexy' side of being an officer.

Last weekend I traveled up to the University of Washington and ran a 1200 meter time trial. I ran in one of the mile races they were having and just hung in for the portion I needed to do. It was a good showing that my coach and I were happy with, so that is a good thing. It was just a time trial so it is hard to take to much away from it. Sometimes the best thing that can come away from a time trial is the fact that nothing bad happened. That being said, everything with running seems to be on track for getting where I wanna go. Here is the is the link to click on if you wanna watch the race. I am the one in bright orange=)

Time trial race

I am gonna get ahead on some school. Take care all

White Lantern.

I'm starting to believe that I married the Green Lantern. Dallas must be a super hero in disguise.

Either that or he is an alien visitor like those on the show "V" whom you think are human, but then out of no where, jump over a building... or off one... land on their feet and keep running.

So here is what I'm talking about: Dallas gets up between 4-5 a.m. makes breakfast, drives into work, physical training ("PT") with his guys, runs on his own and then begins work by 8-9 a.m.

From this point forward he does anything and everything that is needed of him, often dealing with 18 year olds that have way too much money and don't use their brain enough. Somewhere between field exercises, ruck marches, managing 15 or 20 people and who knows what else he manages to eat and find a way, (on a good day) to get out in time to meet up with the crew for a late afternoon workout.

After 12 or 13 hours of being awake, he laces up and heads out to Bellermaine Prep, where we do most of out workouts. Today, its 200's and 400's but it can range all the way up to 5xmile or The Michigan... A workout that would take a whole new post to describe.

We get home and make dinner around 6 p.m. and pack everything for his work in the morning. An hour or two of downtime max and he is off to bed to start again. That is if he doesn't have an assignment, paper or quiz due for his Master's classes.

Thinking about 60 hours of work minimum, 75 miles a week minimum and working toward an MBA is quite enough to make me break out in shingles again, or shAAngles, as we like to call it. Thus, the only conclusion my mind can come too is that he must be the Green Lantern... or an alien. Although, I'm leaning towards the Green Lantern or White Lantern, as I shall call him, seeing as we all look like cast members of Twilight due to the amount of sunlight we get here.
